VISIT THE VIEW AT THE PALM – THE NEW OBSERVATORY THAT OVERLOOKS DUBAI

Category :

If you already know some things about Dubai and are planning your trip to the emirate, then you know that this city is home to some of the most impressive attractions on the planet. The Burj Khalifa, the Burj al-Arab, the Dubai Frame... Dubai doesn’t lack huge buildings, and a new tower recently opened its doors on the famous artificial island in the shape of a palm tree – the Palm Tower. On the 52nd floor of this tower is one of Dubai's new flagship attractions: The View at the Palm, a panoramic observation platform that offers since April 2021 a unique view of the Persian Gulf, the Dubai Skyline and the island of Palm Jumeirah. This attraction is now part of the activities you shouldn’t miss out on in Dubai!

PALM TOWER, THE HIGHEST TOWER IN PALM JUMEIRAH

This new observatory is located at the top of what is currently the highest tower in the entire artificial archipelago that you can see when you visit Palm Jumeirah. And it couldn't be better named, since it too is shaped like a large palm tree.

The first 18 floors of the Palm Tower house the St Regis Dubai, a large luxury hotel with almost 300 rooms. Above this, apartments – luxury ones, needless to say – follow one another up until the 49th floor.

On the 50th floor of this tower is the Aura Skypool, an incredible infinity pool suspended more than 200 meters above the ground, which could not exist anywhere else but in Dubai. The floor above is SushiSumba, a gourmet restaurant serving excellent Japanese and South American cuisine, but also boasts a beautiful panoramic view. So if you don't know where to eat in Dubai yet, you won't regret going to The View at The Palm!

But it is on the 52nd floor that you can find the most popular attraction of the Palm Tower – The View.

THE VIEW AT THE PALM OBSERVATORY

To reach this observation platform, you will have to take a very fast elevator, which can take you to the 52nd floor in less than 3 minutes.

Obviously, you can enjoy a magnificent view from this platform located about 240 meters above sea level. Before the opening of The View, there was no observatory in Dubai from which you could see the city from this angle. To see the Palm Jumeirah archipelago from above, the only option was to take a helicopter flight in Dubai – quite the memorable activity, but it’s not for every budget. Which was a shame, since this artificial archipelago in the shape of a date palm was designed from the very start to be admired from the sky.

Today, it is finally possible to admire this incredible palm tree archipelago from an observatory accessible to all, and the view from the 52nd floor of the Palm Tower is simply breathtaking.

You will be in the best possible place to observe all the great sites and iconic buildings of Dubai such as the Dubai Marina, the Burj Khalifa, the Burj al-Arab, the incredible Atlantis Hotel, the Skyline of Downtown Dubai and of course the beauty of the sea and the Persian Gulf.

On the outdoor terrace, you can even climb a glass staircase that will make you feel like you're walking above the void! And with a VIP ticket, you can access the VIP lounge and The Next Level observation deck, located on the 54th floor.

MORE THAN JUST AN OBSERVATION deck

Other surprises await you during this visit – you can discover the immersive exhibition The View. This large interactive exhibition highlights the history of this incredible project that was the Palm Jumeirah archipelago, from its very beginnings until today.

You will learn a lot about the colossal work that was done to bring these islands out of the sea. You will also discover interactive aquarium tunnels and don’t forget to visit the souvenir store! 😉

HOW TO GET TO THE VIEW AT THE PALM?

The View is located in the Palm Tower, which is itself directly connected to the Nakheel shopping mall on Palm Jumeirah Island. To get to the island, you can drive your own car through the various tunnels or use public transportation.

The fastest way to reach Palm Jumeirah is to take the Dubai Metro on the red line and get off at the Dubai Marina station, before taking the streetcar to Palm Jumeirah station. From there, you can simply walk to Palm Gateway in about 5 minutes, then take the Palm Monorail to get off right in front of Nakheel Mall.
