The Atlantis Aquaventure Waterpark

DUBAI AQUAVENTURE

Category :

The Atlantis Aquaventure Waterpark is the water park of the Atlantis The Palm Hotel. Together with The Lost Chambers Aquarium, they form one of the most beautiful resorts in the world: the Atlantis Dubai, a symbol of the emirate.

So, if you ever are in Dubai, take the time to spend at least one day in this gigantic water park!

For me, a visit to this amusement park is a must-do activity for any stay in Dubai. Even if you decide not to stay at the Atlantis The Palm Hotel!

You'll see that the park is impressive and also reflects the excessiveness of the emirate.

Good to know ℹ️

Aquaventure Waterpark is one of the 40 attractions to choose from in the Dubai Pass. This pass can be customized by you, choosing between 3 and 7 attractions that you want to experience during your stay in and around Dubai.

By taking the pass, you will be entitled to different advantages, such as free tickets, a discount on the overall price of the activities, ...

Each time I went to Dubai, I bought a pass and personalized it with the activities I wanted to do. This flexibility and customization of the Dubai Pass is a real asset 🙂

THE “AQUAVENTURE" WATERPARK

WHAT ATTRACTIONS CAN BE FOUND THERE?

The Aquaventure Waterpark is one of the best water parks in the Middle East. In fact, it is my favorite among the waterparks in Dubai. For me, this is the park where you can have a great time whether you are alone, with your family or with friends. It has more than 30 slides and various and original attractions.

Among the most popular, you can:

  • enjoy the currents and rapids of The Torrent and The Rapids, two rivers for kids and adults;
  • let yourself slide down dizzying waterslides, like the Slitherine (a slide with a double tube to race with friends) or the Leap of Faith in the Neptune Tower (it's an 8-story drop to find yourself under a shark-infested lagoon, my favorite attraction ahaha 🙂);
  • let you fall in the Poseidon's Revenge capsule at 37 mph (60 km/h);
  • or throw yourself into the waters of the world's biggest water slide, the Aquaconda

But that's not all! You'll also have access to wave pools, and even have the chance to try your hand at surfing with Surf's Up Wave Rider.

And don't forget the wonderful float trips, including the one that will rock you along the currents of the longest Lazy River in Dubai. It's 1.43 miles long (2.3 km) around the park and will take you 45 minutes to complete.

Unless you'd rather try Shark Attack, a lovely buoy ride that takes you through a glass tube surrounded by sharks and rays.

The water park also has a zipline: the Atlantean Flyer! It is the longest in the Middle East (1,640ft or 500 meters long) and by hanging 65.6ft (20 meters)above the park, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the island of The Palm and the wonderful landscapes that surround the park.

In short, there is so much to do in this water park that you won't be able to see everything in one day! During the day, you can even admire thousands of marine animals and live unique experiences with them: feeding the stingrays, swimming with the dolphins or the sharks...

Be careful, some attractions are forbidden to people under 3.9 ft tall (1.20 m)and to pregnant women.

WHAT ARE THE OPENING HOURS OF THE AQUAVENTURE PARK?

The water park is open every day from 10am until sunset. Closing times vary depending on the season, between 5pm and 7pm.

WHERE IS ATLANTIS AQUAVENTURE WATERPARK?

The Atlantis Dubai is a resort located in the Arabian Sea, on Palm Island, at The Avenues. The Aquaventure Waterpark is located right next to it.

Address: Aquaventure Waterpark, Atlantis Hotel, Crescent Road, The Palm Jumeirah - Dubai.

ENTRANCE FEES AND PRICES OF THE ATTRACTIONS

Aquaventure Waterpark

You can buy your tickets directly at the Aquaventure Waterpark ticket office (prices vary according to the season), but I strongly advise you to book your tickets beforehand on the net: it's much more advantageous and convenient, because it will allow you to prepare your stay in advance and you will be sure to have a place on the D-day!

Entrance fees:

  • Adult: about $81.40.

  • Child (older than 3 and shorter than 1.20m / 48"): about $67.79.

Admission is free for children under 2 years old.

Don't forget that if you stay at the Atlantis Hotel, access to the Aquaventure park is free and unlimited! A good choice if you want to go to the park and haven't booked your accommodation yet 🙂

OTHER POSSIBLE ACTIVITIES IN THE PARK

The extra fees depend on the season and the type of activities you want to do: diving (from 8 years old up), trekking, encounters with various marine species (sharks, rays...).

Exploring the lagoon from top to bottom, you won't get bored! Of course, if you came to Dubai to relax, it is also possible! To do so, head to the park's sublime 1,640 feet (500m) long private beach. On the program: sun and idleness in a dream setting!

DOLPHIN BAY & SEA LION POINT, TWO FASCINATING ATTRACTIONS

The Aquaventure park offers shows with dolphins and sea lions: "Dolphin Bay" & "Sea Lion Point". You can even go and meet them.

As for the dolphins, there are two shows per day. You can approach the animals and swim with them, and the staff will teach you more about these marine mammals and their intelligent behavior.

"Dolphin Bay” is open every day from 9am until sunset.

In the case of sea lions, you will have the opportunity to observe and approach them.

Possible activities:

  • Dolphin Encounter : Meet the dolphins
  • Swim & Explore : Swim with dolphins
  • Dolphin Trek : Diving under the surface with the help of a high-tech helmet
  • Seat Lion Discovery : Encounter with sea lions + educational session

Please note that if you purchase a ticket for Dolphin Bay or Sea Lion Point, you will have unlimited access to the Aquaventure Waterpark.

HOW TO GET THERE?

The Aquaventure Waterpark is located 25 minutes from downtown Dubai and less than an hour away from Dubai Airport.

From Dubai Airport, you can rent a car and take the D70 exit to Al Garhoud. Then follow Casablanca Street and turn right onto Sheikh Zayed Road. Take exit 34 towards Palm Island and follow Crescent Road. You will soon see the entrance to the Atlantis Dubai Hotel.

The hotel's parking lot is located near the “Atlantis, The Palm” building. A shuttle bus will drop you off at the entrance to The Avenues.

Valet parking is free for guests staying at the hotel.

For those not staying at the hotel, parking is free at Nasimi Beach and White Beach. You can then take a shuttle bus that will drop you off in front of the park entrance.

Another option is to take a cab. The trip takes about 35 minutes and costs about AED 120 ($32.70 or 29 €).

The last option is to take the Dubai Metro (« Red Line ») from your terminal to the UAE Exchange station. Get off at the Mall of the Emirates station and take a cab to the Atlantis Hotel.

The island is not served by the subway, but you can take the monorail from Al Sufouh station (Gateway station) to Atlantis station. This monorail runs from 9am to 10pm. The ticket costs AED 20 (about $5.45 or 5 €)  for a one-way trip and AED 30 ($8.20 or a little more than 7 €) for a round trip.

Please note that a transfer service to and from Dubai International Airport is available for guests staying at the Atlantis. An additional charge will apply unless you have booked a suite or an Imperial Club room.

THE LOST CHAMBERS AQUARIUM

The Lost Chambers Aquarium is not included with the Aquaventure Waterpark admission and you do not need to stay at the hotel to visit it. However, you really owe it to yourself to check it out, because it is fantastic!

The Lost Chambers Aquarium is the largest underwater complex in the United Arab Emirates. This complex - which is a reconstruction of the sunken city of Atlantis - consists of 21 aquariums: the Ambassador Lagoon.

Located on The Avenues, the aquarium is open daily:

  • Monday through Wednesday from 12pm to 9pm,

  • Thursday to Sunday from 10am to 9pm.

SUGGESTED ACTIVITIES

The aquarium is home to over 60,000 marine animals and an impressive variety of animal species (250 different species). You can see them, get up close to them and take a behind-the-scenes tour to discover how the animals are cared for.

You can dive in the aquarium and snorkel with sharks, rays, tropical fish, clown fish, morays .... And even walk underwater!

On Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 8am to 9am, you will even have the opportunity to do "underwater yoga" (the atmosphere is very soothing) and take a 60-minute yoga class. Price: 125 AED (about $34 or 30 €).

The Atlantis Dubai Aquarium has an internationally recognized accreditation (Association of Zoos and Aquariums - AZA): the animals are cared for by qualified specialists and veterinarians, and their lifestyle is respected.

Please note that you can stay as long as you wish.

ENTRANCE TICKET PRICES

If you buy a ticket for The Lost Chambers Aquarium, you will also be able to access the Aquaventure Waterpark for about $8.17 more.
