Nusr-Et restaurant in Dubai

Nusr-Et in Dubai: best steakhouse in the world?

Category :

Up until a few years ago, nobody really knew about Nusr-Et, a gourmet restaurant chain.

With its high quality beef, the brand exploded on social networks with its famous gold-covered steaks!

Better yet, we've all seen the Salt Bae trend, a term that is none other than the nickname of the Turkish culinary artist behind the chain, Chef Nusret Gökçe. If you are a meat lover, go and enjoy an amazing steak during your stay in Dubai! The restaurants are often fully booked, so remember to reserve your table beforehand, and without delay 😉

In this guide, I will present the Nusr-Et restaurant in Dubai and what it offers. I will of course review the top dishes and menus, and tell you more about the history of the brand. After reading this article, you will understand why this chain is so successful!

HOW DID NUSRET GÖKÇE (SALT BAE) BECOME FAMOUS?

Behind the character of Salt Bae is Nusret Gökçe, a former butcher who became famous by creating his own brand of high-end restaurants. He decided to specialize in the preparation of high quality red meat dishes.

NUSRET GÖKÇE’S PRESENTATION AND BACKGROUND

But before getting there, the chef went through many stages! Coming from a very modest family, he was forced to leave school at the age of 12. Nusret has also been involved in many lucrative and voluntary projects.

Between 2007 and 2010 he traveled to Argentina and the United States to work for free in restaurants to gain experience. Upon his return to Turkey, Nusret opened his first restaurant in Istanbul and, a few years later, opened a second one in Dubai, only 3 miles away (5 km) from the famous Burj Khalifa 🙂

WHEN NUSRET GÖKÇE BECAME SALT BAE

The chef's reputation and success exploded when he started posting, in January 2017, a series of short videos that quickly went viral.

Having become real memes, his contents showed him delicately cutting pieces of succulent meats, then lightly sprinkling them with salt. Speaking of which, it is this action in particular that gave birth to a huge buzz on the web! The first video was viewed more than 10 million times, and gave him the nickname of Salt Bae for the delicacy of his gesture.

Since then, the chain of restaurants has never stopped expanding! Now, you can eat in a Nusr-Et restaurant in Europe, the United States, the Middle East (Dubai) and the UK.

WHAT CAN YOU EAT AT THE NUSR-ET RESTAURANT?

By consulting the restaurant's menu on Nusr-Et’s official website, you will see that it is possible to indulge and taste many dishes. The recipes are mainly based on red meat, cooked in various ways and with all kinds of sauces to satisfy your desires!

The menu includes filet mignon, ribeye, entrecote, beef brochettes, lamb, burgers and dishes with sauce. But the real star of the menu is the ribeye covered in gold leaf, for a price of $340 per person (€300).

In addition, Nusr-Et offers a superb customer experience. The meats are not cut in the kitchen but in front of the customers, in a scenic and very appreciated way!

If you are not a fan of red meat or meat at all, don't worry. No matter which restaurant you eat in, other fresh-fish dishes are offered to customers: salmon or tuna tartar, lobster, grilled octopus and prawns in cocktail sauce. Some Asian flavors are also on offer with sushi, maki and tempura.

WHAT BUDGET TO EAT AT THE NUSR-AND STEAKHOUSE IN DUBAI?

I won't hide it, eating at the Nusr-Et is expensive. It's one of the most expensive restaurants in Dubai, but the quality and experience are worth it. On average, you should expect to pay $136 per person (€120), but that's just an average!

If you want to eat a classic piece of meat, it will cost you between $100 and $285 (€90 and €250), and $340 if you want to try the gold-leaf ribeye (€300).

On the other hand, if you opt for fish or seafood dishes, the prices range from $25 and $62 (€22 and €55). For the salads, same things: expect prices between $17 and $62, depending on the ordered dish (€15 and €55).

So, if you want to try the Nusr-Et Steakhouse in Dubai, you'd better plan the necessary budget for that occasion. This is the kind of place where you can treat yourself, so don't put off this experience and keep some money aside to enjoy it once you're there 🙂

IS THERE A DRESS CODE FOR EATING AT NUSR-ET?

Technically, there is no dress code imposed on the clientele. However, the Nusr-Et is a gastronomic restaurant, and therefore upscale. In general, customers dress carefully when they come to eat in the restaurant. It is a brand image that the clientele has naturally understood, and a bet won for the owner Salt Bae.

HOW TO BOOK A TABLE AT NUSR AND DUBAI?

If you are planning a vacation in Dubai, book a table several months in advance. The success of the brand around the world makes it impossible to arrive spontaneously. So, make a phone call and book your table to avoid any disappointment or bad surprise! It is also possible to make a reservation on the official website of the restaurant (by choosing the restaurant you are interested in).

DOES THE NUSR-ET IN DUBAI OFFER HALAL AND PORK-FREE FOOD?

If you are a Muslim (or no matter what your diet is), then obviously pork and non-halal meat are not part of your meals.

If you look at the menu, the restaurant does not offer pork. Regarding halal, beef is not, but lamb is, from what I can see. If you have any doubts and want to be reassured, I recommend contacting the establishment beforehand, when making the reservation. You will know for sure! 🙂
